Help with statement for ASD placement within school

Hello,

My son is currently home schooled due to LEA providing independent secondary school out of area as directed by tribunal. I am going back to tribunal again and need some guidance for part 3 of statement as I want my son supported within local school at a level he would be excluded from most classes and taught 1:1 on a differentiated level. I know if the wording on the statement is not specific enough then such a placement will fail. Please help if you have working statement that provides adequate direct teaching as per your childs statement.

Sorry ds is only 5yrs...but google SOSSEN are very good and IPSEA too.

My advice would be to pay a solicitor in education to help you write a part 3 that meets your ds needs specically and present it to the LEA...

sorry if this isnt any help?

Before re-writing Part 3 you need to take a good look that Part 2 adequately describes his difficulties.

For each difficulty described in Part 2 there should be support decsribed in Part 3. You won't get support stated in Part 3 for a problem that is not stated in Part 2.

Hello,

My son has ASD and there are the usual difficulties in social, language and behavioural. While part 2 and 3 would be specific to my son, the target is getting the level of 1:1 specified, quantified and qualified provision thats worded correctly applicable to a secondary school provision. I would like to hear from others who have a working statement and are happy with the wording within the statement so the LEA are delivering education.

Thanks.

I am not sure what you're asking. He's going to an independent secondary school and you want him taught 1:1 and withdrawn from lessons? Is that right? Is it mainstream independent or special?
