voca , when is right?

at what point do i start looking at voca for ds at 4.7 e is below1% for verbal and below 2% for receptive but seems have normal cognitve devlopment,has sloppy signs but am wondering is now time to push for one

Also has problems with gross/fine motor control but does love computers one of his greatest joys

The book I've reviewed there about communication books (by the ACE centre) is good as well - and a v cheap way to start (if you can beg, borrow or already have symbol software).

Apologies I am going mad, I haven't reviewed the ACE centre book yet it's this one (good intentions, no time!) their website will be helpful anyway.
