Knee pads

My 8 year old dd is very unsteady on her feet. When she falls her knees take the full impact of her weight. Does anyone know where we could get suitable knee pads? I know you can buy knee pads for bikes etc but they are too hard and rigid to wear for several hours. We need pads that she could wear under jeans, school uniform etc and still allow her to freely move around.

What about these? www.bargainboards.co.uk/P/Rucanor-SUPER-SMASH-Elbow-or-Knee-Pads%28666%29.aspx

The alternative is to build a pocket into the inside of the knee of the trousers and put a pad in there. It will have to be longer than you can possibly imagine (because the trousers ride up when you bend your knees so the knee hits a different point on the trousers depending on how you fall, it's sometimes halfway down the shin) and articulated. But I made my own from karrimat when I was snowboarding and they were very successful and of course more comfortable than ones actually strapped to your legs.

I like your idea r3dh3d. We have had a similar porblem to the op. I've given up now! We took a behavioural approach in that he had to learn to walk to something (DS has no standing balance) and that it was not ok to just fall to his knees. This has stopped the deliberate falling as a way to stop but obviously not the accidental ones.
Good Luck!

Thanks again
