Does anybody else lo have less teeth than their peers .?

My dd is 19mths next week and bless her she only has two front teeth no signs of teething or any more coming thro..

Was chatting to her portage worker who thinks her teeth coming thro is delayed because her body has spent last year fighting off illnes after illness and not bothered producing teeth kinda thing..

Any1 else having similar experience or had similar happen? xx

My DS was definitely over one before he started getting any teeth, doubt he had many more than 2 by 19 months, I don't think it's inevitably an SN/illness thing. It can run in families - does your DP know when he got his first teeth?

I dont think it is a result of fighting off an illness, some babies are born with teeth, others get them later, everyone seems to have them. Have you had a chat with your dentist they would give you the best advise. My DS first teeth came through okay, but his second set didnt come through until he was almost 10. I did get a bit worried, his first teeth were almost worn away, the dentist did an xray and all his teeth were there just waiting to come through in their own time. On the plus side, you dont have so many to brush.

Believe me if your lo has been having a rough year with illness thank goodness youve not had the horror of painful teething on top. Off food, off sleep, grizzly and dribbling, too grumpy for physio. Dont worry they'll come through when they're ready.
