Hi all

I have just got back from the Child Development Centre with Circadin tablets for my son who has ADHD and autism....we are tackling one situation at a time and the sleep is first! These tablets are also known as melatonin.

Could you please give me some advice on how i am going to get him to take these tablets as i was hoping it would have been in a capsule form so that i could have sprinkled it in hisdrink Could i crush it up and put in in some jam???

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

yes, i did this with dd(put it in yoghurt) but I would ask for the liquid as it is soooooo much easier

When my ds first went on tablets we put them in a marshmallow

we put ours in fromage frais as is a little thiker than yoghurt and shovel it in one spoon after another so that he swallows it without thinking and noticing the tablet!! he has two ciridin tablets and is none the wiser a lot of the time!

I have melatonin but they crumble up quite easily into smaller bits, then I shove bits on to the front/back of his tongue, give him water and get him to swig. Actually he ends up chewing them a bit to get them down. They obviously don't taste too awful as he does this quite happily every night.

Thanks everyone.....do these tablets actually do the trick then?

For god knows how many years ive have had to go to bed when he does at 9pm and even then its a constant battle to keep him in bed he is exhausted but just wont give in.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you xx

With my dd's they work very well, we managed to get them in capsule form which makes life easier. I put it in their bed time drink and within 20 minutes they are both asleep. They still wake in the night though.
