Help with completing Statutory Assessment Parents section

Was wondering if anyone could advise/help with filling out the parents section for DS (3.7 ASD). Does anyone have any examples. I have been told to make it very negative which is difficult yet feel it needs to be very well written. We are hoping for 1:1 help in mainstream when he starts in Sept and don't want to jepordise this by not filling in the form properly. Anyone?

Have a look at the Guidelines for Writing Advice from the SEN Toolkit.

Remember that the your advice will be attached as an appendix to the statement and will be viewed by everyone who it is sent to (including everyone else who has given advice, any schools which need to be consulted). So be careful about any criticisms about how his needs have been met so far! Yes, you do need to be quite negative, don't play down any of his difficulties. This is also the opportunity to submit information on how he presents at home or outdoors - things that other professionals won't necessarily know about.
