hello, im new to this and was wondering if anyone can offer me any advice, i have two sen children, both very recently diagnosed with dispraxia,1 who also has a servere learning diff and she is in a lsu at mo, over the last year, i ve been told she needed a special school as wasnt progressing, we hada meet,ep said no as she had starting showing signs of progress right across the board, she is having a really bad time at the mo as she has servere constipation and this is really bad at the mo and really seems to affect her behavoiur and co operation so they ve now changed their minds and suggested a special school is needed, i have many many reasons why i feel she would be better off staying where she is with one to one support, the main reasons being emotional, she took a yr and a half to stop crying when going to school, and is finally settled and happy, i feel that moving schools would make her so unhappy and affect the rest of the family, i ve also spent some time working in one of our local special schools and do not feel it would be a good environment for her, i personnally feel her happiness and building her social skills and communictaion is the most important things, and im adamant she wont get this in a special unit, does any one know if i can insist she stays in an lsu with one to one? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated ...
