I would like to ask anyone who has had any exerience of using light (coloured lights, bubble tubes, fibre optics etc) to help with their childrens sensory stimulation and educational needs.

I am designing a new light system that is to help children and give them as much benefit and enjoyment as possible.

If anyone has experiences of using things like this, good or bad, or if anyone has any ideas that they believe would be beneficial to them and their children I would dearly like to hear from you.

As much information as you can provide would be fantastic as I am very keen to make a difference with this product to as many people as I can and your help is a major role in its success to do just that.

Thank you!

Hi there,

Dunno if this is of any help but my son (7 at the time) had sensory lightwave treatment which basically was sticking his head in a box for an hour with a break half way through.

He was told to look slightly below or to the side of light source which changed colours (i cant rem how quick it was now as it was a while ago).

The treatment he had was combined with sound therapy - my son, diagnosed with ASD, after the treatment stopped sitting under his desk with his hands over his ears and stopped having headaches. I think his sensitivity to sound was definately helped by the sound therapy, although im not sure if the light treatment helped or not.

The light treatment was said to help sensitivity to light and his judging of things - not a great improvement but after 3 years we saw a huge difference but this may be due to age...

Anyway, i just saw your thread and thought it may interest you as they'r both light!

Good luck

P.s the organisation is called The Sound Learning Centre in Palmers Green North London.
