Anybody know whether you can hire a travel Safe Space?

Going on a group holiday and one child in particular may benefit. Used a pop up tent previously, but escaped despite being padlocked in...!!!

I don't think so.

I looked into this a while back (actually trying to persuade SS to buy one and hire it out to local families). They refused on H&S grounds - the whole thing is made of fabric and would have to be hosed down and disinfected between occupants. Just in case... . Plus safespace make them "tailor made" to the child's spec; there's a tradeoff between how large and robust they are and how heavy and bulky they are to transport; a one-size-fits-all for a teen who flings himself at the walls would probably need its own transport.

But ... if someone has overcome these difficulties since I was last looking at this, I'd be delighted to hire one too! lol.

r3, I know a local group did buy one for the purposes of hiring it out, but it was enourmous and no-one had space to store it so they returned it. This one wasn't tailor made to one child's spec as it was a specific travel SafeSpace, to be used in most rooms.

It would be good wouldn't it? There must be a huge need for them as they could make the difference between going on holiday or staying at home for some of us. Wouldn't have thought disinfecting it would be a problem if they can find someone to do it.

Does anyone have a safespace voyager they would be prepared to hire out to us?

We have a safespace at home but are going on hol's and have got used to our dd being safe at night and not banging walls and windows.

hi where are you? I do have one depending on when you need it and where you are. They are not specifically made to each childs specifications, although they can be altered slightly by request. They are made of a tough plastic fabric which can be wiped/sprayed with milton etc. The original safespace is made to pesonal specs and isnt really practical to transport. The voyager comes in 2 large bags and are quite heavy, but perfectly transportable.....email me if you are interested. i also know of somebody selling one but they are asking almost full price for it. We got ours funded through New Life Foundation. [email protected]
