Dh has been working late this week and tonight is working 8am-9pm and won't be home until 10pm.

I have had a sh*te week, dd1 was ill (cold) then had nits, then i became ill (with the cold/flu) and dd2 has been extra grumpy (crying at everything). Im tired and i want to sleep, dd1 has just slipped on the floor, knocked her elbow and knees and now has tummy ache (sat on the sofa whining).

I feel like walking out the door, i have been stuck in the house with 2 ASD children for 3 days and i need a break.

No one to come and sit with me or help with the girls.

Dd1 crying and moaning .

Just want dh home.

Sorry for the rant, just really fed up.

I understand Marne - we too have had nits and heavy colds/flu this week and my DH has not been home before 9 any day, and not at all last nite and next week. And I did the proper two bloody nit treatments with Hedrin, and still there are loads tonight!!!
Do you have melatonin or medised to get them off to sleep? I am counting the minutes till I give them. Am also looking forward to a fag, have you that or a drink to look forward to?

Really feel for you, anything you can look forward to when they are in bed/tomorrow?

Eveiebaby · 22/01/2010 19:20

can you maybe plan something nice to do with DH and girls at some point over the weekend or better still can DH have the girls for a couple of hours while you have a break even if it's just to go to a coffee shop have a massive latte and read a magazine!

I know the above is not much help in the here and now - hope 10pm comes quickly for you.

Marne · 22/01/2010 19:22

I have melatonin for both of them.

Dd1 has just spend 20 minutes on the loo and her tummy feels better, Dd2 has just filled her nappy for the first time in 3 days(sorry if TMI) so hopefully she will be happier.

Dh is working again tomorrow but has Sunday off.

We have used Hedrin (on all of us) could only find dead lice yesterday but dd1 still itching .

I think it is all just that much harder when you yourself feel ill. It makes me laugh to think how, before kids, when I got a cold I could just GO TO BED for two days, and someone would bring me food on a tray, or DVDs. Now it could be swine flu and there's no chance of even a 5 mins lie-down. Lem Sip Max tablets, plus nurofen, have been my friends this week. Roll on melatonin hour. What mg dose do you give your two? I have been giving about 1mg, but fear it is not working well any more.

I've been stuck indoors today myself, so totally feel for you.

My neice had nits and her scalp was really dry and itchy after using hedrin if that helps? She washed her hair with some intense conditioner and it helped with the itching.

Marne · 22/01/2010 20:10

they are both on 3mg, it seems to knock dd2 out within 30 minutes which is great .

I wish i could go to bed for 2 days and get looked after. If dh gets it he will expect me to look after him whilst he lies in bed for the day.

Just put dd1 to bed and she chose the longest book for me to read to her, hopefully she will be asleep soon.

Dd2's ready for bed, just waiting for the melatonin to kick in.
