after the tantrums over the gamecube, had to go shopping had no alternative but to take DS with me as no childminder(he hates shopping). Anyway in the middle of the multi-storey car park he goes into complete meltdown screaming and punching himself, people were staring at me as if im a really bad parent or that i have a really naughty child, nothing i said would work, he screams just got louder, eventually he sat down behind a car while DH calmed him down, really struggling this week, dont think it can get any worse

Oh dear Jenk. Tell us more, what is going on with dx, intervention etc? Sorry if you've already told us..... Is he on the ASD? Any chance of Earlybird or Help! from the NAS?

thanks for your support.
Davros, he has been seen by 2 psychologists who both agree is has AS/ASD and they have done psychometric testing, but not told us the results. They say he needs to be seen by a specialist unit at the hospital but havent told us what for,how long, what they will do etc. We dont even know if we take this as a confirmed dx, although if 2 psychs agree then i suppose it is, its just the not knowing how to handle him that is the worst, feeling hopeless-last night he said to us u show DD love but u just buy me toys, but he wont let us show him any affection-goes mad if i try and put my arm around him, DH says he,s had enough and is ringing the psychs this afternoon, can u tell me if u know what happens at this specialist dept for autistic children cos i can,t find any information
thanks

Oh yes, I remember you saying this I think. I think its strange to have two psychs agree on a dx and just leave you to wait for anything, even a proper conversation, never mind a report etc, until you get some other appt at some time. I think your DH should get on their backs (!) and you should call the NAS to find out what's available in terms of Earlybird or the Help! Course, I think they'd be excellent for you. If not, come back here and we'll wrack (sp?) our brains.
