Hi, i'm only new. My daughter Mary (16months) has Epilepsy basically from birth. She has quite bad seizures - usually 2 a day but they thankfully haven't slowed her down. She also has obstruction in her kidneys.
I look forwards to taling!! x

Hi and welcome.
My DS had infantile spasms, tho he waited till he was 5 months old, unlike Riven's impatient DD!
He developed Lennox Gastaut syndrome at age 1 and unfortunately, he doesn't seem to want to respond to any drug treatment.

Glad your DD is still doing well despite the seizures.

My 11yo DD has epilepsy, (not LGS), and I also have epilepsy. Just thought I'd say hi. Glad your DD is doing well.

Hi Katie. you found some of the experts already!

( welcome back Riven, good to see you x)

My DS is 6. had post natal seizures and a stroke at day one resulting in some brain damage. had some funny twitches for a couple of years which developed into absences, tonic clonics an myoclonics. All now controlled by drugs, although I don't much like the side effects.
His half sister had terrible epilepsy when young, and was heavily drugged, but stopped fitting by age six and is now off the drugs and doing well.

Epilepsy's a frightening and highly stressful business, but I do believe that we'll never be asked to carry more than we can hold, so you can be sure that your innate parenting and coping abilities have been recognised by the fact that you have been blessed with your DS. (I admit it's hard to hang onto that one all the time )
