ASD and obsession with sounds?

Sorry I know I've posted about this before.

DS loves the sound of things, so will create destruction , I assume to see what sound it makes.

He has ripped the cones from my speakers, again because that changed the sound.

Is there anything I can do, should I try to not overwhelm him?

We tend to have cds/ radio on all day and live in London so every time we go out it is very noisy

Hi Devilwearsprimark, sounds like sensory seeking behaviour ie he is seeking noise input.

My ds for example craves input into his muscles and joints and bangs and crashes into objects. I am trying to deal with it by creating more appropriate ways for him to do this.
