I found this website the other day when I was searching for independent advice and found it really good. IPSEA is a national charity providing free legally based advice to families who have children with special educational needs, they have a freephone helpline and I found them really helpful. Hope it might be of use to someone else.

I spoke to AFAISIC today. Am stunned by how much advice they gave me. I've read the guidelines etc and thought I'd gleaned what I need to know. Conversation proved to me how delusional I was. - Currently worrying about what else everyone else knows that I don't that I ought to know iyswim !

They are really good, SOS!SEN are as well. I use both depending on where I can get through.
