I've been here a while so I know AS/ASD/CP and I think that's it, but what are some of the common acronyms that you guys use on here? I'm just curious really...

SALT = speech and language therapist
GDD = global development delay
EP = ed psych
ABA = applied behaviour analysis - mainly used for teaching skills/language to kids with ASD, but applicable to well teaching pretty much anything.
PECs = picture exchange communication system - useful for language delay/ASD.
VOCA = not sure what the letters stand for, it's a communication aid that I think reads out the words for you.
LD = learning difficulties
SLD can be:speech and language difficulties OR specific learning difficulty or severe learning difficulties
SPD can be semantic pragmatic disorder or sensory processing disorder.
SI = sensory integration
ADHD = attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
OT = occupational therapist

SLD can also be severe learning disability

Aha! Thank you both I now have more understanding of this (very confusing) language, because it really is like a new language isn't it?
