sodding school is shut, so no respite, and the stupid people didn't send home the charger for the VOCA we are trialing so can't charge it.

Oh dear

We were meant to go and see the proposed special school for dd today, and paperwork has to be back with LA by Tuesday, but they've shut because roads are lethal.

Same here.

What is making me mad as all hell, is that they have decreed they will be shut for two days because they will organise volunteers to clear the snow tomorrow.

Why not today? Wtf is wrong with doing it today? If they can put a note out on the web site at 7am saying they are clearing tomorrow, why couldn't it just say they are clearing today and see who turns up? How would it hurt to try?

I'd turn up.

dd1's school was open, but couldn't get her there (took me 45 mins to get the 4 miles to the motorway, and then there were tailbacks, so cam e home again - took another hour to get home )

another day of dd1 climbing the walls...

2shoes - what a pits about the charger. really bad news. ti is quite bad snow at dd's schoool though, my friend is back to digging her car out if she wants to get anywhere (unlikely, really, as she wouldn't get back if she did got out!)

Our schools are shut today, they were only opened yesterday! I do feel sorry for ds's teachers as they all turned up early yesterday to dig out some access to the school to get the minibuses in. Whoever designed that place is an idiot, it is fairly inaccessible at the best of times, with a very narrow, steep entrance so in the snow it is just impossible. The school is also on top of the Downs and gets cut off very easily so the taxi company hasn't felt it safe to take the children, which is fair enough.
Dd's school on the other hand, Grr! We got a text this morning to say they would open at 9.30 as buses were disrupted, followed 2 mins later by another text saying they were shutting completely. Daft thing is, they are opening the sixth form (for exams) which is situated on a horrible junction at the top of an ungritted hill, and is in fact the only place I've been really scared of taking my car in this weather as it is lethal there! We've had terrible trouble even walking up it. Oh well, there's no logic.
