Hi Peachy. I saw that you mentioned on another thread that sensory issues could soon be included as a means of dxing ASD.

I find this fascinating, as dd1 has AS and her sensory issues cause her (and us!) no end of difficulty. I have tried so many things to help her and it has been commented that her sensory issues are extreme. We have had OT etc, but I would be fascinated to learn more about this. I don't suppose you could point me in the general direction of this new dx criteria please? Many thanks.

It's not official yet, someone I met through Uni has stated they are considering it for the NIOCE Guidelines which are at consideration level I think. She is on the committee.

I used this ref in my study

CASHLIN A et al, 2009, The Triad of Impairment In Autism Revisited, [Online journal], Journal of child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing, (Vol 22), search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=cmedm&AN=19930299&site=ehost-live

which I thought made a few good points about sensory assessment; I'm happy to send you the essay of you emailme on [email protected] its on different aspects of DX but does include sensoty,I should warn you its not been graded yet (I am expecting a Z)
