than the ones on here

no dig at other thread, but thought it would be a laugh to see how different ours are, if at all.

so if I was sending ddd in with a packed lunch she would have.

sandwiche(jam or grated cheese with tomatoe sauce)
skips or quavers. or the little cheddar biscuits
rolo pudding
cake or chocolate bar.

no fruit as she loves it but struggles to eat it in it's natural state.

Oh almost forgot today he also had a packet of milky bar buttons as well!

The school has fitted a mini mack and switch to his wheelchair so he can have a bit of low tech message fun and the head teacher had left a message "from ds" on his switch saying "can i have some milky bar buttons for my play-piece tomorrow mum?"

Nice to see shes following the school healthy eating policy!!

Glittery, we get some of our calogen delivery in 200ml bottles and that's what the school have in their fridge. I send crates in, they mix it all up each day.

I do the extras like Benefibre, Lactulose, vitamin, drugs etc at home.

DD2 is very fat-calorie dependant as her carb process doesn't work so needs continual feeding at frequent intervals or she droops visibly. She wouldn't manage on only calogen twice a day. When she was orally fed she ate mostly double cream and butter;

glittery · 13/01/2010 14:32

ah right, ds gets 20mls calogen morning and night, used to be 30mls a time but he put on over a kilo in less than a week so i cut it back! other than that he eats mostly chips!

Cheese, cucumber and lettuce sandwich (wholemeal bread),
grapes or apple,
carton of unsweetened fruit juice,
packet of low fat/low salt crisps,
bottle of water,

every single blessed school lunchtime for the last 6 years!

DS has typical, bland beige ASD diet. Doesn't like hot, wet food (never has even as a baby like feeds/food fridge cold). Also eats very little in school hall due to noise/crowd/attention span. Takes in a wall-e lunch box each day with:
juice in a Wall-e drinks bottle
and then just two items from the following list each day:

  • apple
  • yoghurt (smooth no bits)
  • fruit bar
  • bag of Asda great stuff apricots
  • a wall-e snack pot with mini sausages, carrot stick (just one), chunks of mild white cheddar
  • a wall-e snack pot with hula hoops or pom bears (about half a bag)
  • sandwhich (will eat jam, cheese, jam and cheese, cheese spread, peanut butter, or chocolate spread). Sandwhiches have to be perfectly shaped/cut or will not be eaten.

He often comes home with a healthy packed lunch sticker so his can't be that bad I guess.

Attila - I may have to rack your brains on slow hard slog to expand your DS's foods. I need to do this at some point, it's on my 'pick your battles one at a time list'.

I'm so envious of those of you with fruit eating DCs.
DS has
6 cheese crackers with butter
3 biscuits
dried cornflakes or cocoa pops
plain crisps

bottle of water.

Exciting huh.

tipsycat · 13/01/2010 22:15

My DS (8) ASD has :

2 ham sandwiches made with crustless 50/50 bread - must be the same type of bread, with the same butter and the same ham or it will be rejected!!

1 pack cheese doritoes (but won't eat proper cheese)

small bunch of red seedless grapes

1 strawberry frube yoghurt (will not accept any other flavour or brand)

1 pack of choc dippers

1 bottle of plain water

Exactly the same, every day. I've given up being bothered by it. Choosing my battles. God help us if the packed lunch police get onto us!!
