Can't help but sorry to hear he has been unwell. Hope you get some answers soon and that he continues to recover.
Could it just be viral? Friend's son in France (perfectly fine, NT, etc) had bad flu that went to his hips ("hip flu" in French don't know the term in English) and couldn't walk for a while now absolutely fine...
xx hugs too xx

Hope you get some answers! I can't help with the gross motor stuff, not my strong point, but for his hands, can you get the 'squishy' physio balls for him to squeeze? I had these for DS2, you get them in different 'strengths', start off with the easiest then go up through the levels, it helps to give them some extra grip. Also squishing playdoh and stress balls can help. and hope you get something sorted soon.
