I had yesterday marked as decision day for the LA regarding DD's statutory assessment.

Today I phoned up to ask whether we would get a letter telling of the decision, or if I would simply get a draft statement/note in lieu.

The lady on the phone said that DD's file has gone to the Principle SEN officer for statement writing!

YIPEE. We will get it on/before Jan 6th.

Hi Lou. That is a great start. Try not to get too stuck on the idea it will contain what you want. It may, but I rang my SEN case officer the day I got mine and she said (before I said anything) 'right, - shall we meet to negotiate?'

Lou

Would have a very good look at this document when you get it; you can ask on here re content.

Would at the very least seek independent advice anyway on what the Statement should say re parts 2 and 3 as these two are the most important bits in the whole document.
IPSEA and SOS;SEN are worth contacting.

You need provision that is both specified and quantified; my guess is that you will require further negociations with the LEA.

BTW note in lieu is not worth the paper it is written on!.

completely agree with Attila and others. Run it by us and by Ipsea or SOS!SEN! to make sure wording is appropriate.
