His role was to stand on the stage beside the inn door and shake his head while a song was being sung about the inn being full. However, he managed to escape the clutches of his 1:1 and spent the whole song running about the stage dodging people and laughing (which worked quite well, in fact, as one of the lines of the song was 'Get out of my way!').
No-one seemed to mind - in fact all the staff cared about was that he'd enjoyed himself . And the comment in his home-school book was 'the most enthusiastic innkeeper ever!!'.
Normally I cry at nativity plays - first time I've ever cried with laughter...
