I have recently bought The Parent's Guide to SEN and Disability Discrimination in School'
from www.bpec.net.
Having had 10 years of misinformation from schools and very little support given to my child; SAT's results manipulated at KS1/2/3, homework with parental support used for teacher assessments rather than unsupported class work, school failure to pass on relevant info to parents only found out through asking to view childs Educational and Curricular Records etc.
The above book though quite expensive will, I believe, be a valuable aid to parents hoping to work their way through the educational minefield that is SEN. Highlights the blocking strategies that schools/LEA's use to prevent parents getting their children statemented, or adequate provision at SA/SA+.
