Hi

Really unsure where to go with this

Baically am struggling I work at local hospital ina job i totally love 99 per cent of the time. But am just so shattered I only work part time but its shifts and not the same shift week in I can do a late and 2 early or 2 nights. Plays havoc with ds 4yrs who has an ASD. And i am just totally shattered as he doesn't sleep through can be up for 2 hours in the night or if he does sleep we are up0 at 4 (sleep meaning might be up for 20=30mins).
At the point now where am thinking of leaving work have just had 2 weeks hols to think about this but he has been ill very ill with severe tonsilitis which almost ended with him in hospital.

Am thinking of may be reducing hours but 2 shift would be only 15hrs so was thinking maybe 1 night shift (my mum would be here and said that 1 is ok with her) and a late or early shift so makes 17.5hours

Has anyone had to do this sort of thing

Also he starts mainstream school in January so can see me being up alot of the time due to routine change

any advice anyone please

not really had to do this sort of thing, as in term-time I only work when DS is at school but sounds like it's definitely worth you cutting your hours but still doing some since if you enjoy your job it's good to have some regular adult activities/contact to help maintain some sanity! have you discussed melatonin with the paed to help with your DS's sleep?
