Sat yesterday for my dd who has been out of school for a few months. Rang today and they can't tell me until tomorrow as it has to ratified. Is it normal to take a few days to get a decision? thanks

Please remember that these so-called Panels are not accountable for their decisions - that responsibility lies with the education Officer who is handling your case. they could easily make that decision themselves but instead they send it to a Panel so they can claim they have taken 'expert' advice in reaching their ecision. however, the sec of State for ed had to remind LEAs a few years ago that it is the Education officer's decision and that they not not 'hide behind' the Panel.

Just to set the record straight.

Best wishes

Panel sounds like some big boardroom affair but they are just rubber stamping what has already been decided! Any news yet?

i gues you must have had a somewhat fraught summer try to sort this all out, all the best and hope you get the right decision.
