I would like to hear from other mums with a child with Aspergers Syndrome, we've just had a confirmation with my middle son and I'm really struggling to deal with his behaviour.

Hi, i have 2 daughters, my eldest 5.5 has Aspergers and my youngest 3.5 has high functioning Autism. Welcome to MN. How old is your Son?

Hello and welcome. My son has autism and LD. Although I probably cannot advise I did find the courses run by the NAS to help parents just after diagnosis helpful.(HELP, and HELP2 which has specific seminars such as managing anger or meeting sensory needs). Meeting other parents and sharing ideas is helpful too.

Thanks for your reply, my son is 5 next January, he's just started mainstream school and he's been becoming more and more violent ( punching, kicking, spitting ) since August.

I find going out with my other two children a nightmare as they are to young to understand why their brother is different and behaves the way he does ( my daughter is 6 in January and my other son has just turned 3 last week and he tends to copy his brother ).
