What one area of probable artefact means please, (Brain)
we have been sent a report of dd's results and i dont understand it.

artefact just means interference from something outside the brain creating a disturbance on the film. E.g. a metal clip can show up with streaks of white on a CT scan, and the streaks are not anything to do with the person.

artefacts are something man made that has ended up on the xray and has little or no bearing on the xray. Sometimes it obscures what the consultant is looking at ,sometimes it doesnt. It probably means she may have to have xray again if it is obscuring what needs to be looked at
