School Observation - what happens?

Can anyone tell me what happens at a school observation? A friends DS has just started reception and is being assessed for ASD.

She is worried and wondering what they do....any ideas?

not sure of that particular condition but my ds was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 8, he had a school observation, he was observed for impulsiveness, fidgeting and inattentiveness, they assesssed my ds and the report came back for a referral with a paeditrician to look into ADHD
