Hi,
'As well as the symptoms of anaemia, vitamin B12 deficiency may cause neurological symptoms due to inflammation of the nerves (neuritis). This is called vitamin B12 neuropathy. It affects movement and sensation, especially in the legs, and causes numbness or pins and needles. It can also cause confusion, depression, poor concentration and forgetfulness.' - from Bupa
I get my DS's vitamins from: here
Kirkman show exactly what in them here
I buy the wafers as he can take these no problem. They are like fizzy sherbet in the shape of a tablet, he just chews it.
I have had them myself (i test any new supplements ) and they are ok, Just a little sour.
My ds used to wake in the night screaming with knee or foot pain. It happened quite alot before we used supplements.
Anxiety is also my Ds main problems and it comes and goes in Severity. I imagine that melatonin could help as DS becomes much Worse with anxiety when he is tired.
I also find Epsom baths really help my DS with his nerves. I add about a cup full of salt to his bath and let him soak in it for a while. DS seems to connect with us so much more even before he is out of the bath. It promotes a better nights sleep and the following day he is much less agitated.
There is lots of useful information or Epsom salts and Autism here: www.enzymestuff.com/epsomsalts.htm
I buy the salts from here: www.justasoap.co.uk/catalog/epsom-salt-p-207.html
Also I recommend Omega 3 & 6 oils - I get these ones here these also hep my DS be more focused.
