He has poor balance and walks with a wide gait after a neurological infection last year. He's just 3 and has a mind all of his own so worry he will not cooperate. Are they the right people to push for walking aids i.e. 'pods etc?

Hi boolifooi, they will assess things like his balance, co-ordination, muscaltone, range of movemnt in joints etc.
They do it all in a playfull way, ds2 is 6 & ahd physio since birth & I don't think he ahs ever realised he is being assessed.

Make sure he has clothes that are easy to get on & off, if its warm enough shorts are good.

They will want to see him walk & move around maybe get him sitting on a gymn ball, looking a this balance etc.

Once they have assessed him they will let you know if they feel he needs any aids. They can alos give programmes of exercise or refer for hydro etc.
