dd running really funny

she as never run well but now her legs are all over the place and we got her out of pushchair at ds school she started running with the kids they all started laughing at her runny i got upset but she didn't understand and started laughing with them. i have rang our physio but she dont know what to say! what could cause this?

Me again - spoken to you before about my dd who has difficulty running too! I find that her ability to run changes daily - she can be stiff legged, or high stepping and some days it's just a mess altogether iykwim. Could it be a change in muscle tone? My dd has fluctuating tone and depends if it is high or low.. it's horrible that the other kids were laughing though - I'm dreading that happening to dd

Hi no dx! Despite having brain injury at birth she appears to be developing well but delayed with gross/fine motor skills. Consultant expected her to take longer to learn to run, do stairs etc..tbh I'm still amazed she can run at all!!

Physio hasn't been that much help really. I'm thinking of taking her to an osteopath/chiropractor (put a thread on here about it) as it really helped a little boy I know who could only run on tiptoes before he started having this regularly.

DS2 (6, ASD) runs oddly and the paed said it's because of hypermobile joints, which put his weight in the wrong place. So he often runs with the top half of his body bent forward and always with his feet splayed out. It does vary from day to day though.

DS1 runs at a 90deg angle from the hips, its almost amusing to watch , hes adhd/dyspraxic. When the physio was doing some tests with him, she asked him to hop along the line - with the result he nearly flattened her, its a good job she had quick reflexes!
