What a weekend its been ds manged to knock himself out cold for over 40 mins and given him self fracture skull and minor bleeding which thankfully has stopped

but argh we saw fist dr after ds rushed in and he was like he will say if feels ill and kept asking ds can you see hows your headache despite me saying ds cant talk and him hurling into a bowl at same time.

Thank god nurse had more sense and got another dr who ttok one look and called surgeons .Were going be stuck in here am mumsnetting via my phone save n boredom Poor ds is not coping with the noise tvs yelling and all the hustle bustle going on around the ward let alone people drs coming up trying to get him to answer them am thinking sign above his bed saying .I am unable to talk stop asking me silly questions

hope he's feeling better soon. Bet you don't know whether to be thankful they speak to him or thankful if they ignore the child!
I get some doctors who ignore dd totally but yank up her t-shirt and start doing stuff. And others who ask her questions then make assumptions about her intelligence when she doesn't speak.

magso · 23/08/2009 10:19

Hope he recovers quickly and you can go home. Take care of you as well!

Only just read this, hope your DS is out of hospital soon. You'd think there was at least one member of staff who knew makaton!
