My daughter is 11 and has GDD. She was referred to see the cleft palate SALT and team because she has a nasal tone to her voice and occasional nasal escape during certain words.

She too has a very high palate but I do too and no problems!

She had a video fluoroscopy which was a video x-ray to check movement of her soft palate. It requires quite a lot of complaince from the child and the results for her were slightly inconclusive, I'm in no hurry to repeat it.

She now just sees the SALT from there each year for a check up, we decided not to go for the surgery to improve the tone of her voice because it sounded a bit brutal for not much improvement.

thanks theres no way they coul do video xray with ds he would just not comply last blood test took 3 of us and he is a tiny scrap.guessing it can not be done under GA

can I ask where you saw your specialist , tone of voice not issue with ds he has no voice , but agree for little gain i to would not opt for surgery
