...and can tell me what to expect from a home visit?

My ds1 is 6 and is (and has been) having problems with his speech for a while now. The school have now accepted this and (after insisteing they assess him and a complete cock up with the referal) we have finally got a date for a 45 min home visit on 27th.

Is there anything I need to do before hand or have prepared? I am a bit at a loss what to expect and therefore also how to prepare my ds1 for the visit.

I think his speech problems may have really impacted on his literacy (although moondog recommended the Headsprout early reading programme on another thread which we have been using now for about 3 months with great results - THANK YOU MOONDOG, WHEREVER YOU ARE!!!!!)

Any info greatly appreciated....

my ds's SALT used to bring small toys and picture cards with her. She would sit on the floor with ds and "play" with him whilst asking him questions about the toys. On one occasion she recorded his answers with a microphone. It was very informal

becaroo,

Try posting in the Special Needs: Children section rather than this particular forum (I have seen Moondog's name appear on there).
