Hi Jimjams ,you may have seen this already, but just in case theres an article in todays Guardian which mentions a couple who took there local authority to court to get funding for speech therapy for their twins who needed treatment.Maybe you could try the same route?

Sorry about the multiple postings I kept thinking that it wasn't up.I'm disappearing in embaressment now! But will be very interested to hear if you can use it.I'm a physio who worked with special needs for 5 years but out of the NHS for 18 years now (living abroad) and I have to say that I am totally dismayed at the dreadful service that you all get (or don't get)It wasn't like that years ago.

Since the subject line already existed am just adding this as an existing thread, but it's an article that might interest you -- or anyone else with autistic child(ren).

Thanks zebra- haven't read it yet- but ds1 is on cod liver oil for the vitamin A so will read with interest.....

another hijack of the existing thread

jimjams thinking of all you have on your plate & idly looking through the ads on the gumtree I saw someone (name looks Czech-ish) looking for "any opportunity to work with autistic children" as part of a diploma - and specifying "SW" as where she wants to work (though pessimistically that probably means Wandsworth ... )

but at the risk of being an infuriating well meaning suggester person, here's a link : under "work wanted" "nanny/homehelp", ad heading is "Special Needs Work" under today's ads

Aw Binkie, that's lovely! I hope Jimjams gets some help in looking after her lovely son at the tail end of the pregnancy as a result of this. Also, trying to bump this...
