my 8 year old is awaiting a refrral for dyspraxia testing from a gp. how long should it take for the letter to come though ?

It varies depending on where you live I think scottie. If it's NHS then an appointment should be forthcoming within 18 weeks of request, however, if they are short - staffed then I think it can be longer. Who has the GP referred you to? Is it an Occupational Therapist?

i dont no. he didnt say. i live in redbridge but my doctors come under havering so i dont no where or who he will see. slightly confused at mo

Dyspraxia testing is likely to be done by an Occupational Therapist maybe with some paediatrician input. My DS (6.5) has dyspraxia too and much of the testing he has had has been occupational therapy based.

thank you for the info. docs havent processed it yet but hopefully can get appointment tommorrow once i have seen the right person at gp`s.has been off sick for two weeks and noone has continued the refreals work aaaagh

My son is 6 Diagnosed with DCD, (though Occupational therapist- done partially at health centre and part at school) within 12 weeks of refferal
