Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

I could do with some SALT advise please?

I work in childcare & I rang a SALT today about a child who is having quite small problems - fully expecting to be told to away & come back later as the lo is only 2.1

But I was talking about the problems he has with chewing & immediately I have got a referral

Why is this?

Because chewing or swallowing problems can (in rare instances) be life threatening and are therefore taken very seriously.

Really I didn't know that

I have an appointment at the end of July - which round here is very very quick

I hope I didn't mislead her - I tried to be as accurate with my observations as possible

Don't worry, even if no serious issues, she will just discharge and you can all breathe a sigh of relief.
