I found this on a facebook group. WTF is this rag paper thinking allowing this ignorant woman to white this horrible rubish.
Reading this article has made me so mad.

I have seen this article before and it makes me angry and upset.

A few bits relate to me, yes having ASD children has changed my life and i have had to give up work to look after my dd's, but looking after them is the most rewarding thing i have ever done, i have more fun looking after my ASD children then i do looking after NT children. When my dd2 says a new word its so rewarding and more exciting than christmas . I wouldn't swap my ASD children for NT, i love them to bits and yes they do add slight pressure to my life but they also bring 10 times more happiness .

I so agree marne. ds2 has asd and is wonderful, he has just started to say mum and the first time he did I cried with happiness. he is so funny he make everyone laugh, such a character. It seems to me that this woman has read one book and met one child and thinks she has the right to comment. Ignorance is not an excuse for her nastiness

Stupid witch! I've read it before too but it made me just as mad this time. I wouldn't mind reading 'Tom, Cath and Granny Helen's' version of events though.

It just makes you want to scream doesnt it - its absolutely blood boiling and to be honest very 'scaremongery' (If thats a word!)

Also, i have met many NT children who are 'hell' to look after , any child is hard work.

Well clearly not this writer, who'd rather make money out of her own nephew's problems that than offer to babysit him.

Another one of those "I have bugger-all experience of XYZ but I know someone who does, which makes me an expert on the subject" articles.

To be honest it wasnt the article that upset me - its not a well thought out piece and its going on one child - its the comments underneath.

I was really upset when I read it, but I feel better now. I spoke to a friend about it earlier and she made me see that this could be about anyone - we know a boy with curly hair who is a nightmare child, so it would be easy to say 'all children with curly hair are hell' and its just the same. Its not true, but its just the same sweeping, unthoughtout arguement as this article.

A quick google shows that Carol Sarler, seems to think it's ok to make a living writing uninformed twaddle that offends other people.

She really is a bit of a lowlife - there are a fair few blogs out there having a right old go at her: the following is my favourite:

As you can tell from the URL - there's a fair bit of language in there - however, he hit's her nail right on the head...

There was someone else who asked why they ever read "The Daily Mail" - and he answered; "Because sometimes I like to feel angry". Don't let her wind you up, she's being paid money to write ignorant, uninformed rubbish, that she and her employer know is going to upset people, and they do it anyway, because that's their business.

Apologies to any Daily Mail readers here - I know you and Ms. Sarler have nothing in common ;-)

Oh that article is just so awful! DD has ASD, and yes, she can be difficult at times, but then so can all children, including many "NT" children.

She brings so much happiness into our lives and we have gone on to have another child, so the article is just plain wrong, mis-informed and to my mind poisonous in its negative attitude to ASD.

im not even going to read it i dont know about anyone elses life i just know ours would be empty without or darling autistic boy he is everything to us(as is his nt brother just in case he reads this)
