ADHD - diagnosed through blood tests?

My sister is going to get her DD tested for ADHD and she heard it can be done through blood tests. Is this right?
I am currently waiting for an appointment for my DS with a educational psychologist to see if he also has ADHD.
I wasnt offered blood tests for him, as far as I knew it was done by observing there behaviour and also through there class teachers observations.
Can anybody give me some much needed knowledge on diagnosing ADHD? Thanks.

My DS was diagnosed by a consultant psychiatrist. I'm sure he didn't have blood tests or a skull Xray (but it was 13 years ago). He did have an evaluation by a psychologist through the same clinic. Sorry to be a bit vague but it was a long time ago.

I have always been told that ADHD is not something you can diagnose with a blood test or xray. That was by ds1's paed.

blood test and x ray is to rule out other possibilities that can be causing hyperactive behavior other than ADHD
