DD BIT someone today!

She's never done it before. To make it worse, it's one of the little boys she's invited to her birthday party on Saturday, so now the wee lad's all confused.
Oh dear! I do hope he still comes

i think lots of children do this at one time or another and am sure his parents will explain to him - if they are the sensible type!

Was she overexcited?

ds1 (the nt one) bit everybody & anybody between the age of about 18months & 2.5 yrs.

It was a horrible phase for all of us, I hope it was a one off & the birthday party goes ahead without a bite

Ds2 has started nipping people, it is really driving me mad. I just have to keep reminding myself that NT children go through the same things, so hopefully it is just a phase.

I hope the little boy does come to her birthday party.

MrsT, hard to tell! As far as I can work out (from her limited vocabulary) she was upset because he wouldn't do what she wanted (wouldn't turn around??).
Anon, you could have a point. NT DS (2) bites at the moment. Mainly just me he bites, but I think it could be copycat behaviour.
She's also currently working with a psychotherapist (which I was dead against when it was suggested, but then went to meet the woman and had a really good impression). She is trying to bring DD through some of the developmental stages she missed and she thinks that this is what the biting might be (she's also sorted out DD's toileting issues, in four weeks, so she's must be onto something!)
This morning the little boy's mum told me how excited he was to be invited to DD's party and how he was really looking forward to coming, so I guess all is forgiven!!

i think all children do this sn or nt my d swent through this stage its just another way to grab attention without necessarily meaning to be naughty

they see someone else do it and presume its ok

my d sis a good one to copy others actions he doesn't know there wrong if someone else is doing it , it must be ok
