I have 3 kids - oldest boy ADHD and Aspergers - needs own bedroom but my 2 youngest boy/girl are getting 2 old to share. I was told by someone on a board ages ago we could maybe get a grant to help build an extension but not sure where to start looking - any ideas?

It's called the disabled facilities grant - up to 25k I think, and not means tested.

Apparently a bugger to get in some areas - others on here have had it (riven and saintlydamemrsturnip, I think) and it takes a while but great if you can.

Seems to often centre round safety for ASD kids though.

Yes as givemesleep says we (eventually) got one. DS1 is severely autistic and we were given one to put double glazing in (he'd broken 5 windows headbutting or hitting them by the time they went in). After the first window was broken I was told he had 'demonstrated his need'.

Not means tested for children, but it was a bureaucratic nightmare to be honest. And took about 2 years. First stop as riven says the OT so ask SS to refer you to an OT.
