i still feel alot of people have been affected and either made to feel they dont belong or very uncomfortable and upset

anyway lets not forget that sn forum is to support everyone regardless of dx

i have many a times supported outside of ASD and will continue to do so

as others without a child with ASD has given me some of the most valuable help

so im giving you all big hugs and dont feel bad i need this place this is my life line and that means all of you

everyone has given me great advise and i feel you shouldn't forget that its not all about ASD although it probably dominates but im here for all of you lets get ourselves back on track so we can do what we do best xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My DS2 doesn't have ASD so I haven't been on those threads but this forum has been a source of information and comfort for me over the last eighteen months, I wish I had found it five bloody years ago!

Our brag of the day is that when I asked him if he wanted anymore breakfast he said 'nope'. Now if that had been DS1 I would have said 'do you mean no?' but we were all whooping around the kitchen because it is the very first time he has used the 'p' sound!

Anyway that was a happy moment today, later will be trying as the dreaded ed psych is going in to asses him later for his annual review, and I cannot stick her.

bubblagirl · 06/05/2009 09:57

ggod luck with the ed psych and well done to ds xx

ooh well done to DC's!!!

can i add a message of PMM?

DS5 is now often using 2 signs together: where + spider, car + gone, cake + yum, and even chair + gone = want to get out of chair!

im proud of him!

SALT has just left and said that we can expect a dx in a month or so , i wasn't expecting it to be so soon as i was told it could take 1 year+. She said she clearly has Autism but they may not say where on the spectrum she is until she is older. She also said dd is doing well with trying to form words and understanding words.

I feel a little odd and a little sad as it will all be so final, i know dd has ASD but a tiny part of me was hoping she didn't. So it looks like i will officially have 2 dd's on the spectrum.

bubblagirl · 06/05/2009 11:08

well done to oyur ds misscutandstick very proud in deed

amber32002 · 06/05/2009 11:24

Cup of tea? Hope you don't mind it being in a mug...

meggymoosmum · 06/05/2009 11:27

Got any hot chocolate?

amber32002 · 06/05/2009 11:31

Probably. Or gin. Might be too early for gin, though and I don't actually drink it in real life

slightlycrumpled · 06/05/2009 12:00

Oooh I love gin! Although it is a leeetle early.

Good luck with SALT bubbla, hope he does okay.

marne, How you are feeling is completely normal, it is good that you will soon get a diagnosis.

Well done to all DC's!

Hmmm, so my great day didn't last long, got a phonecall from school to say that DS2 had had a bump at school and could I go and see him. He has had his first nose bleed and was hysterical! Managed to calm him down and he agreed to stay, although to begin with he was signing home, his 1:1 has agreed to call me after luch to let me know how he is.

Feel bad now though. What if his nose is broken. He said it was sore. Oh dear. I really need a manual with this child.

Whoops. That'd be the gin then! hic!

meggymoosmum · 06/05/2009 12:08

LOL

I'll stick with the hot chocolate. I don't normally drink until after 2pm

slightlycrumpled, hope DS2 has settled when the 1:1 gives you a call later.

We're off to sensory group this afternoon so i'm keeping my fingers crossed for a stress free session. DD seems to be in one of those moods today. Although, we've had no childcare for 2 weeks - maybe we both just need a break from each other

bubblagirl · 06/05/2009 15:42

sc hope ds is ok

SALT session went well he managed to do a few b words so she's happy with progress

meg hope your sensory group goes ok xx
