Lamotrigine - any links to side effects with hyperactive behaviour???

My DS had been on lamotrigine for a good year now and before that was on tegretol (carbemazepine), the previous epilepsy drug made him quite sleepy and with this one he is awake but sometimes constantly on the go with tapping, banging doors, up and down etc, could this be related to the drug?? I havent found anything saying its a side effect and wonder if anyone else has had a child on it and noticed this too?

i think any unexplained different behaviour should be checked out my nephew is like this but not sure of the name of the drug it wont hurt to ask

Hiya my 2 yr old Ds, is a severe epileptic, due to a genetic disorder and is currently being weaned off lamotrogine, he was on 30 mg twice daily,nw on 10mg twice daily as keppra is taking over from ths, he is also on nitrazepam 5ml twice daiy and epilim 5ml twice daily, but I certainly noticed Jack being hyper, esp at bed time when the lamotrogine was increased so much so he would not sleep the whole night! So was put on chloral hydrate, but was making him like a zombie next day, so he is nw on melatonin to make him sleep
