Private autism assessment

Hello,
We are planning to have our 22months old DS assessed privately. Does anybody have any experience with private autism consultants/centers?

No - but I would say to go the NHS route if possible because private reports don't lead to many of the services you need in most places.

I will 2nd the NHS route. A private dx does not 'hold up' in the state nursery or school system. I have just undergone a 2nd dx although privately. My sons LEA have been quite clear that they will not take the dx as official and therefore it is worthless with anything related to is state education (ADHD). If on the other hand it is for your peace of mind, then I would go ahead. Maybe you could 'get the ball rolling' via your GP along a NHS dx at the same time, as they take longer ?
