Got a letter today, and I've been granted driving lessons . I am so pleased. I can't begin to explain how much me being able to drive will change our lives for the better!

I also applied for a holiday and a new bed for DS2, but the letter only said "Thank you for applying for driving lesson". DO you think this means I'm only getting that, or will I get an individual letters for each grant? Not sure how it works as first time, but the woman who came out was sure I'd get all three.

Congratulations!

It's a few years since I applied but when they decided they couldn't give everything I'd asked for they phoned first to ask which ones I wanted most. So it's possible that you've got them all but are just hearing from the different agencies/companies separately.

I got both awards on one letter, but may be that drivinfg lessons are treated separately.

Congrats - i got our requests too.

Hmmm, not sure what to think now. The letter for driving lessons had a lot of info about what they involved, and a form I needed to sign and return.

Excellent news WMF, what did you get again?

Holiday and sensory lighting for bedroom. I wasn't even going to ask for the lighting, but the advisor 'strongly encouraged' me.

It does say on my letter that this is more than a typical award and not to expect this in future years .

Both DS's were being spectalularly difficult while she visited though.

Oh fab! Where are you going to go on holiday then?

It says on my letter that I can't apply for anything for 24 months after this award, but I don't care. I'm just greatful I got it tbh.

I am thinking of asking them tohelp towards the cost of putting down th saftey surface for my back garden like they have on parks ds keeps falling and has had couple of dislocations plusit would then make it level and accesabile at all times.

or if no does anyone know of other haraties that would help contributes had several quotes and its around 2.5 thousand .I am frantically saving and have saved 1 thousand towards it

5inthebed · 27/04/2009 10:26

I think they would help with this, I can't see why not. Its worth applying for, what have you got to lose? Here is the link

Phoned FF and I've only got the driving lessons. But at least I was granted them! I can reapply in 12 months for a holiday as well, so all good

how many lessons have they allowed you?

Widemouthfrog · 27/04/2009 13:28

I guess driving lessons are expensive (are they limited to a set number, or as many as you need?)

We are using the Haven vouchers - DS actually quite likes caravans so this suits us.

5inthebed · 27/04/2009 16:13

The driving lesson package is really good! I'm not complaining in the slightest. Being able to have the car will make my life 100% easier! It consists of 45 hours drive, 2 goes at the theory test and 2 goes at the driving test. Plus you get all the bumf for the theory inc cd roms.

We are going to try book a Haven holiday as well, somewhere where we can't drive back in the middle of the night though when DS2 won't go to the bed in the caravan.
