fit advice please Worried

ds went for eeg today as there has been some concern that he has absent spells,I Wondered for a while but has been only when other proffesionals involved in his care started seeing them that they decided needed looking into

Now today on way back he had a fit in the cae went all floppy then started jerkin lasted 3 or 4 minutes ,now as we was not far from home wenstraight into surgery by time was there fit had stopped but hewas sleepy and still is , is akip on couch atm.Gp told me take him home give him calpol like hes not sleepy enough , has no fever anything

Question is can the egg cause a fit about hour after and what should I do next time,Do i treat it as /I ould like when my other dc had febrile convulsuions though this did go on lot longer?

sorry i have no idea, just didnt want to read and run. have you tried the nhs website? that seems to have a lot of info on allsorts on maybe that will help? or can you call the person who did eeg, or the paed and ask if that could have caused it?

I know the eeg can cause a fit when they start stimulating with lights, etc - we were warned of this. An hour after - not so sure. My DS is always sleepy after a seizure too.

If he seems okay now, I wouldn't be immediately concerned, but if it happens again I would just call an ambulance. Agree that for peace of mind you should try and speak to the paed/neurologist who has requested the eeg.

I'm sure there will be better advice later.

thanks he was defintley having more mini absences after the eeg will wait see if anyone calls me back

keep calling them, i have given up expecting people to call me back and have become a stalker!

ds is fine now was very sleepy all afternoon now full of beans but tried calling back they all seemed gone half day will be on phone Monday
