Absolutely disgusting. Good luck with your complaint.

LollipopViolet · 21/04/2009 16:11

You'd think common decency would get people moving the buggy if there's no kid in it...

Although that said, I took my mate on a bus once (she'd not been on one, also wheelchair user). Didn't know (as we'd never done it) to take chair off backwards, bus driver stands at bottom of ramp as we nearly fall off due to not being dead centre (I couldn't see where the wheels were).

Strangely enough we've not done it since.

LadyFio · 21/04/2009 16:17

I had this happen so many times that I actually started driving again (I was a petrified driver but no more)

5inthebed · 21/04/2009 16:27

Thats shocking! I hate bus companies and their stupid rules.

I have a nightmare of a time every time I take ds2 out in his major, as its drivers discression whether or not they class it as a wheelchair . 9 times out of 10 they class it as a pram. I once got made to get off a bus as I refused to fold the pram down to allow a double pram on. I was 8 months pregnant at the time.

Phoenix4725 · 21/04/2009 16:55

wheelchair services have just changed what they was going supply for ds ,there now supplying wheelchair think its called blade or something so this should leave no doubt in their mind

But am defintley going follow it up

Phoenix, ds2 has a bladeplus - he loves it!

LadyFio · 21/04/2009 18:30

my daughter has a blade plus aswell

purple with black seats

Phoenix4725 · 21/04/2009 19:00

was some concern at first because ds is such little thing about size and was going for the buggy style sort but they resolved it and im hoping will make it easier for people to recognise ds as disabled sad thats what it taskes though

can i ask how easy are they to fold down for putting in car etc?

OP posts:
LadyFio · 21/04/2009 19:08

they are easy to fold but i do find them a bit heavy to lift into the boot, up steps etc

lady fio did you go for solid footplate oor ones where dc can move out theway for in and out

we gone for blue since thomas is .am hoping ds likes it am just waiting for it to come in now

OP posts:
anonandlikeit · 21/04/2009 19:19

ds2's bladeplus is plain black with moveable footplates.
Easy to fold up, his has small wheels rather than a self propel type, but he loves it finds it much more comfy than his major buggy.

anonandlikeit · 21/04/2009 19:20

We asked for blue but they delivered black & said we didn't have a choice.

Phoenix4725 · 21/04/2009 19:50
