I can't say that I am particularly aware of it! But I suppose there will be lots of media coverage and things going on locally and in schools. DS's school seems to have a few things going on and there is a WAASD gallery at the Autism Speaks website

Relating to world autism day, an article today on the BBC news website about how an airport is trying to make it a better experience for children with autism.

Also today, news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7976489.stm

another article from the BBC about how a stress hormone might give clues why we find certain things more stressful than others, e.g. changes in routine.

There was an interesting feature on GMTV and another on This Morning. Have Sky plussed the lot so I can watch it when I get chance. Will search and link to it if I can..

DS2's school had a fun day/easter day combined witha little bit of fund raising. There was also an atricle in the local rag with a few interviews from parents. Have't read them yet, not sure if they were in todays or tomorrows.

I just saw a teeny clip of Yoko Ono with her latest "work" which is an Imagine-style cloudy sky made in jigsaw pieces to be sold off piece by piece... to support WAAD. I wonder if she has some connection?

There is a really nice official gathering on facebook for WAAD - www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/World-Autism-Awareness-Day-Stand-up-for-autism/51929188547

Hundreds of people have uploaded vidoes, photos and comments on why they are standing up for autism
