Going to hospital

Tomorrow my daughter goes into hospital for a procedure where they look down her throat(under G.A), they are looking at how much scar tissue she has there. She has had this done so many times but it does not become any easier. I just wish we didn't have to go through this and I wish I could just live a 'normal 'life where your child doesn't even know what a hospital looks like! I think what I really hate about being a mum of a child with special needs is the terrible guilt you feel a lot the time when your children have to go through things that they really shouldn't have to face and how they always seem to show so much more courage than you. Please keep us in your thoughts tomorrow for a safe hospital visit and I will post how it went when we get back!
Thanks so much.

Oh Rivers I missed this b ut very, very much hope it was painless in all senses of the word.
I know what you mean about wishing that our kids didn't have to have the hospital play such a big part in their lives

rivers · 22/04/2005 20:54

Thanks so much to everyone who posted here, it has really cheered me up on a really tough day. My DD was fine during the procedure and is now home and thankfully didn't get too upset in the hospital. Unfortunately the results of the test weren't great and there is no chance of removing her tracheostomy for at least a year. I know I will feel better about this after a few days but just feel a little tired at having to keep picking myself up after the latest bad news. I know we will get there one day but I just wish it was now. Thanks again for your posts.
