Today DS2 had a major meltdown, and I seriously thought he would spontaniously combust.
On a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon ds2 gets dropped off by SN bus and then quickly has dinner, gets dressed and goes on a regualr bus with me to MS school. All is good and well, the bus route is one we use regulary. The bus is ALWAYS a bus where you need to go up a few steps, ds2 ALWAYS sits on the same seat. Most of the drivers known him on this route, and are lovely with him.
Today however, the bus was a brand new bus and a brand new (miserable) bus driver, one of those easy accessible buses. As soon as ds2 saw it, he went crazy. Screamed "no bus nos bus" threw himself on the floor at was kicking and screaming. I had to pick him up and shove him under my arm and carry him on the bus like that. He grabbed onto the door and refused to let go. Finally got him on the bus, paid for my ticket and tried to sit somewhere remotely near to where his usual seat was. No such luck. The whole of the 10 minute journey he chanted "no bus, no bus, no ds2 bus" Screamed getting off the bus and all the way to the school gates.
Was very reluctant to leave him there, but as it happens, he was good as gold. Even helped give the milk out at milk time. The little monkey!
I need a glass of wine!
