how old? . am wondering as dd4 is at mainstream nursery now, but have doubts as to whether its the best place for her.... and i have no idea how she'll be at primary.how do you decide anyway? Do the medics recomend specialist school, or is it usually the parents decision? obviously as dd4 is "different" she'll be an easy target for bullies, she's already had comments from a 4 yr old at nursery,(he's just a baby though so let it go, but a wee bt of educating its ok to be different wouldnt go amiss )just want whats best for dd4......

but my dd is not a learning tool.
I love her sn school(so does she) I love the warmth and the love given there.
ds is nt and 17 and I have seen ms it is crap,
My worst nightmare would be for dd to go there.
as for "I can see why disabled adults say that non-disabled parents need eduaction too."
very harsh

yes, it seems to be the in thing to include dc's with sn, to help nt kids understand, to educate people blah blah.
at the end of the day the only thing I care about is d and that she is safe, happy and gets the deducation that suitsher.
the plus side at her sn school is that she gets a socils life, he has freinds, freinds whose parents love her.

riven there is a girl at ds's nt college, she once went to dd's school, she HATED it.
why because it was the wrong school for her.

dd would not be able to survive ms.
I know this as I know dd.
I think seeing she is nearly 14 I can say this.
you can put all the ramps, special loos in you like, but they won't change the kids in ms.

"I hope SN schools will go the way of institutions and 'just put the baby in one and forget about them'"

most of the parents I know from dd's school probally have more contact with the school than they ever would with ms.
dd has not been put there and forgotton
